Mobile Library

We are very fortunate to have such a good library service here in Shropshire. And even more fortunate that the library comes to us! The mobile library service visits the Parish every other week on a Tuesday. The stop times seem short but with a bit of organisation it is amazing what you can pick up.

Shropshire Council’s mobile library service covers an area of 1,235 square miles and the vehicle will be used to make 154 stops a month, with its longest single route being 100 miles. It is stocked with 3,500 books and carries a selection of titles across all genres and for all age groups.

The mobile library is called "Owen" and the route which covers the Parish is number 9.

Stops within the Parish are as follows:

  • Bings Heath, hairdressers - 1.30pm-1.45pm
  • Astley, church - 1.55pm-2.10pm
  • Hadnall, Astley Lane - 2.15pm-2.30pm

At the time of writing (9 May 2025), the next visit will be on Tuesday 20 May 2025.
